About Snooties BBQ

We are  a mobile restaurant specializing in hickory smoked ribs, pulled pork, pulled beef brisket, chicken, and wonderful homemade sides.  From April to November Snooties is located in Sandusky, Ohio.

Snooties was founded by Dennis Studer, a brick and stone mason, in June 2009, with the help of Beth Smith, Joe Hire, and Janet Studer.  Starting out setting up at fruit markets, gas stations, and as many festivals as possible, Snooties was off to a good start.  The four of them couldn’t be happier, BBQing in the warm sun with the best company.

In September 2010 Snooties lost its founding pitmaster.  His daughter, Janet Studer, and her husband Joe Hire took it over and run it to this day!

If you had the pleasure of meeting Dennis, you were very lucky and most likely very well fed!  He was a fun-loving guy that loved meeting new people.  Dennis put everything he could into Snooties. We are eternally grateful and forever proud to be able to keep his bbq legacy alive.

 Dennis planned to retire with Snooties in Florida.  The pair have other ideas of building a small restaurant in Ohio.  Although Joe and Janet did enjoy the snowbirding in Tampa for a handful of years they chose to stay north and plan a building.

Snooties is now located at 7312 Portland Road.  The food truck will be setup here seasonally until the two can build their dream restaurant.

We love what we do, and you can see and taste it in our food daily.  Our bbq sauce is homemade, tweaked to perfection by the four.  We also make our own meat rub and sides.  With the perfect seasoning and hickory smoke our customers can’t help but say “Wow”, and we don’t blame them!
